Cindy's step brother and family; Scott, Cari, Abby and Mataya joined us here. They were making a similar trip to ours, but in reverse. We had a great time visiting the sites with them!
Of course we got in a hike in the park. It was a shorter trek this time, but we still saw some great scenery. There are no bad views! We went on an amazing whale watching excursion (highly recommend) in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Some great photo opportunities for Doug! We were fortunate to find, track with and watch "Big Mama," a Humpback Whale identified by her fin markings. We also saw sea lions and a lighthouse on the boat ride. We took the Ferry to Victoria, British Columbia, where we biked 23 miles on the Galloping Goose trail, walked around the capital city and had dinner before returning on the evening ferry.
Our travel companions make an appearance in this post. Kovu is happy to fit into any space he can find and likes sitting in the dash when we aren't moving. Kiara scopes the landscape as we get ready to park.
